Matter vs Officio
Officio started in Canada and expanded to Australia in 2013. We started in Australia, for Australian migration agents.
The backstory
Officio was originally built for Canadian immigration consultants. The Australian version is an adaptation of that product, not a ground-up build for Australian migration law.
They serve both markets. That split focus can mean less attention on Australian-specific needs like OMARA compliance workflows, the Migration Agents Regulations 2026, and the way practices actually operate here.
Their pricing is not published. You have to contact sales to find out what it costs. In 2026, that is a choice.
They have no published security certifications. No CASA assessment, no SOC 2, no ISO 27001. If they hold one, it is not on their website.

What Officio does differently
Credit where it is due.
Multilingual questionnaires
Officio offers translated intake questionnaires on their Pro tier and above. If your clients don't speak English as a first language, that feature can be important. We are building this too, but they have it now.
Workflow management
The Ultimate tier includes workflow tools for task sequencing and assignment. Useful if you have multiple staff handing cases between each other.
Market presence since 2013
They have been in the Australian market for over a decade. That is time spent learning how agents work here, and it shows in parts of their product.
Where Matter is stronger
Security
Matter holds CASA Tier 3 certification. Independent penetration testing across all 14 OWASP ASVS categories. Officio has no published security certifications. You store passport numbers, health records, financial data. That is not a place to take chances.
Pricing transparency
Our pricing is on the website. No sales calls required, no hidden fees, no surprises at renewal time. Officio requires you to contact their sales team before you find out what you will pay.
Australian-first
Matter was built for Australian migration law from day one. Not adapted from a Canadian system. The data model, the compliance features, the terminology: all designed around how registered migration agents in Australia actually work.
Feature access
Security and client portal come with every Matter plan. Officio gates VEVO checks, e-signatures, and AI features behind their higher tiers. You should not have to pay for the top tier to get basic security.
Automation
Matter runs on Neudash, a full automation platform. Document collection reminders go out on schedule. Deadline alerts fire before anything slips. Client status updates happen without you writing them. Officio offers an AI Writer, but only on their Ultimate tier.
The transparency question
If a software company won't tell you what it costs before you talk to sales, ask yourself why.
Matter pricing is on the page. No surprises. No discovery calls. No "custom quotes" that change depending on how much they think you will pay. You see the price, you decide, you start.
